Villo. Cheap, eco-friendly and fun
What better way to discover a new city than on a bike? On a cheap bike, of course! Villo is a trendy new transportation system offered by the city, consisting of 180 stations with 2,500 bikes spread across the city. Not only is it extremely easy to use (it takes only a few minutes to hire or return a bike), it’s also very cheap: a 1-day ticket costs just €1.50 + rate / half hour.

Design Democracy
Because park design shouldn't be left in the hands of conservative bureaucrats, Brussels organized a big design contest open to everyone in 2008. The competition was strong, but three lucky winners saw their dream realized in three green parts of the city centre.
